I've just directed my third bridge tournament in just over a week and my second in two days. Hey! I might just have a new career emerging.
This time the event was a regional teams tournament involving some of New England's best bridge players. They were so good and accomplished that I hardly had any calls to rule on indiscretions! So, my role was mainly to keep time, push the slower players along, distribute bridge boards and help with the scoring.

The event was staged in the Armidale bridge club premises just around the corner from where I live. I guess we'd have had more than just six teams if players knew it would be a terrible day weather-wise.
