Since we first arrived in Mountain View on this visit three weeks ago, we have witnessed Flynn's increasing mobility. His crawling has accelerated to the point where one shouldn't lose sight of him, he attempts to climb even steep staircases, and he is increasingly standing for long periods on his two pegs while shuffling along attached to a settee of other permanent contraption.
Yesterday saw the piece de resistance of this kind of behaviour when he discovered Ella's cooking stove where she prepares imaginary meals or drinks. He stood up for over 30 minutes - but still has to walk independently for the first time - against the stove finding that he could get sounds out of the heating rings, opening up the oven door, unlocking the doors to the pantry, and playing with the microwave. And despite his experiencing teething troubles - three are on their way simultaneously - all we heard were happy gurgles of various kinds.
Here's a rather blurred image of him working the various knobs and lids of cooking utensils!
