Blue-Tongue Resident

Our home now has three residents, not just Dot and myself. Dot mentioned the other day that we appeared to have a rather large lizard living under the timber decking  we have  next to out back door.

Well, yesterday our new house-mate made him- or her-self known to us and we shook hands after which Fred posed for a paragraph or two.  'He' was really inquisitive and friendly, so we parted on the best of terms.

Fortunately, our cat Honey is elderly and not all quick on her feet, so our new friend is unlikely to end up as a meal! And, perhaps also fortunately, Max is not around to trap and cage Fred as his pet. So my guess is that Fred and ourselves will live in harmony.

Anyway, meet 'Fred' our Blue-Tongue lizard. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue-tongued_skink for more details. We call them lizards, but sometimes they're known as skinks and they're quite common.

My goodness, Fred is huge! Just don't try to pick him up or he might latch onto your finger like his relative did to Bec all those years ago!
