I'm a fan of the Sherlock Holmes novels written by
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle more than a century ago. Imagine my surprise when we visited
a small village in England's New Forest for lunch at the Faithful Servant pub
and were told that Sir Arthur was buried in the local churchyard. This was during
a 24km bike ride through the forest. So I reverently visited the site on my
bike. Here's the gravestone marked by Holmes' trademark pipe and his business
card! The other pictures show the tomb’s surroundings.
