Remarkable Cave and surrounds

Just south of Port Arthur lies some impressive coastal scenery, which we were privileged to see on a lovely fine day. This post is largely visual, but it hopefully gives great clues as to our experience.

At Remarkable Cave the sea has etched a tunnel through solid rock and on the landward side you can see the rocky terrain. Max found what looked like Buddhist Stupas and proceeded to enhance them. He had plenty of raw material to play with.

The valley up from the cave is steep and I wondered what I would be like in heavy rain. The other end of the cave empties through a chasm into the ocean.

Here we have more lovely coastal scenery and a beach to romp around on.

And nearby we found some local wallabies who looked like they were playing with packaging around some seedling plants.

Here's not so much a tunnel as bridge in the rock carved by the sea. And below we witnessed more lovely coastal scenery plus swirling waters in a chasm near the arch. Ans this was all before consuming some Doo-Lishus ice-.cream

Max is shown here modifying a rock platform before came across this remarkable - excuse the pun - striated rock shelf.

Bec and Max didn't need much encouragement to explore this interesting feature, and the dude below looks a bit like me! I'm just wondering how I took the picture!!
