Dot and I spent the Christmas - New Year period with family members in Canberra (Christmas) and Broulee (New Year) on the NSW South Coast 200 km to the South-east. For much of the time the festivities were enjoyed by 14 people - our children and their families and Greg's parents together with their siblings and families. So there was much socialising with a range collective events together with lots of large and well-presented meals. This and later posts focuses on some of the many captivating and memorable events of the something like 18 days we were on the road to and from home. Let's start with something unusual.
On our post-Christmas arrival at Mike and Moira's home at Broulee we were fixated for many days trying to assemble a difficult 1008 piece jigsaw! If I recall correctly, no less than 9 members of various families across 3 generations contributed individually or collectively to its gradual assembly, myself included. However, it was much more of a collective effort as we approached the puzzle's completion which enthralled our coterie of 5 young children and their parents. A few pictures capture the final moments.
One or two pieces to go.
Voila! Done.
The puzzle complete. It was especially difficult because because of large areas of barely undifferentiated colours.
